This October school holidays Crows Nest Uniting Church ran its first Holiday Club, for children aged 3 to 7. The program was advertised to Shirley Road Preschool children, to their siblings and to children in the church. It ran for three days, 6/10 - 8/10, from 9am to 3pm. We had a great response to this program and hope to grow this in the future.
We had a wonderful time reading books, doing craft, dancing and playing. All of the kids, over the 3 days, helped make a big work of art work that we donated to the Church for its ‘Celebration of the Generations’ service, held on Sunday, 10th October. Some of our favourite activities included making pasta, fruit loop necklaces, lollie face biscuits, magnet fishing and lots of musical statues. After lunch each day we went in to the church for some quiet imagination and relaxation time, and one day we even flew paper airplanes in the church.
We had a great time running this program and really enjoyed getting to know the kids and families from the preschool better. We look forward to running more programs like this in the future.
If you are interested in programs like this, please send me an email saying you would like to be on our events email list. I would love to hear from you.
